Approach

PIECES is an upcycled chess set made of 1.5kg of recycled ocean plastic waste, and 122 bottle caps. 
Chess used to be a symbol of nobility. By using 'top 6 marine wildlife that is currently most threatened by plastic pollution' as the main visual identification, the goal of this project is to transform the insignificant plastic wastes into a collectable and conspicuously emphasising this contrast to promote ocean conservation.
